• Themed weddings create a style and mood for the day.
• A design must be close to your heart.
• Enjoy every step, you’ll never experience anything like this again.
• Be positive – things can and do go wrong but don’t panic.
• Confirm with suppliers, confirm again and again and again.
• Be clear and precise with people about what you want.
• Take a few days off before the big day.
• A good photographer is worth investing in, it is a permanent reminder of the fantastic day you had.  Even better, if budget permits, is a videographer to capture the emotions.
• Checklists, planners, budgets and 'to do' lists are always good ways to ensure everything is on track.
• A strong chief bridesmaid and best man are worth their weight in gold so choose wisely.
• Don’t forget after the event things may need to be returned so ensure someone is responsible for this.
• If you know what music you would like to hear at your reception, write a play list.
• After the big day you may feel a big come down so plan something for a few months afterwards.
• You don’t have to follow tradition, do it your way.
• Don’t worry if you can’t afford to spend a lot on your dress.  There are lots of great dresses out there and to be honest, you will only wear it for one day so be realistic, but remember whatever you choose you will be the beautiful bride.
• Don’t get hooked on having every attendant matching, they’re all individuals so create a personal look
• Less is more – a simple design can pull the style and feel together.
• Do spoil yourself!  Having beauty treatments will make you feel more confident.
• If you have fussy eaters among the wedding guests, choose a menu with a difference.  How about good old British Fish’n’Chips, or everyone’s favourite Pizza, or a BBQ, or Bangers’n’Mash?
• Doing it out of season can help to keep the costs down.  There are some fantastic venues in and around Brighton to hold all under one roof and ignore the typical English weather.
